The most common herb for this is Plaintain which can be found right in your own backyard, provided there are no chemicals on your lawn.  Simply find a leaf, crush it with your front teeth and apply to the bite or sting.

If there is no Plaitain available, Black Ointment is an herbal combination, which includes Plaintain, used to draw toxins, pus and infection out of wounds.  It also has an antiseptic quality and can be helpful for any skin inflammations, acne, boils, cysts, and warts.  Because of it's drawing quality it can be used on slivers as well.  This is a must for any first aid cabinet.
